I found this recipe from youtube last year, and decided to make these. They are delicious!
What You Need:
1 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese
1 16 oz. package of nutter butter cookies
Reeces cups, the mini ones
Chocolate of your choice
Equipment
A cutting board
A knife
A mixing bowl
A gallon size Ziploc bag
Cookie Sheets
Wax Paper
Air tight containers, bags, or a plate
A microwave safe bowl or pot
Optional:
Decorations such as sprinkles, coconut, or broken pretzels
Directions:
Step 1. Place entire package of nutter butter cookies in a Ziploc bag. Close the bag, making sure there is no air in the bag. Then begin crushing the cookies until they are all crushed.
Step 2. Pour the crushed cookies into a mixing bowl. Then add the cream cheese and mix the cookies and cream cheese together until they are well incorporated.
Step 3. Unwrap your mini Reeces cups and cut them into quarters with a knife. Big reeces cups would also work; this recipe is customizeable.
Step 4. Add the Reeces cups to the cookie and cream cheese mixture and mix together until everything is well combined.
Step 5. Place mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour so they are easier to work with. You will need to make this into balls.
Step 6. Make mixture into balls.Melt chocolate in a pot on the stove or in the microwave.
Step 7. Dip each ball into the chocolate. You can pick them up with a plastic fork, or just drop them in the chocolate with your hands; up to you. Then roll each ball in the toppings if using. Place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Step 8. Place truffles in the refrigerator to get firm, about two hours. Remove from wax paper, then place in an air tight container, Ziploc bag, or on a plate if you plan to serve them right away. They should be stored in the refrigerator since they have cream cheese in them.
